Rennie Scaysbrook has been riding motorcycles almost since he could walk. He has made motorcycles and his passion for riding not just his hobby, but his life.
A third generation rider and racer, Rennie has been a full-time motorcycle journalist since 2007, starting in his native Australia and later in North America. His work has been featured in numerous publications spanning Australia and New Zealand, the United States, Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Great Britain, Spain, Germany, Holland, Portugal, Japan, Malaysia and Taiwan.
Rennie has attended over 100 international press launches for the world’s most prestigious motorcycle companies. He has ridden across Australia on a Honda CRF450, through Nepal on a Royal Enfield Bullet 500, east to west in Iceland on a Ducati Multistrada V4, and clipped the apexes at the famous Kyalami circuit in South Africa. And those are just a few of the of the places motorcycles have taken him.
Rennie also holds an accomplished CV on the racetrack. Alongside competing in Australia, New Zealand, Northern Ireland, Canada and the United States, Rennie has twice competed at the Isle of Man TT and is the all-time course record holder for motorcycles at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in Colorado, Springs, USA.
The love of riding and racing, plus the birth of his son, Harvey, pushed Rennie in the direction of creating motorcycle-specific literature for children in 2021. His first book, The Big Book of Motorbikes, was an instant success, and featured in Newsweek’s 30 Best Car, Truck and Motorcycle Books for Kids.
Rennie’s two starts at and lifetime love of the Isle of Man TT has since spawned his second volume, Race of The Titans, which details the incredible battle between Steve Hislop and Carl Fogarty for Senior TT supremacy in 1992, a race that has gone down in history as one of the finest ever held on the Isle of Man.
